Before You Write

A few things worth knowing:

  • Trees are local pickup only. All live container-grown trees and shrubs are collected in Cumming, Iowa, between April 1 and October 1. We do not ship container-grown plants.
  • Scionwood ships February 1 through March 31, cut dormant in Iowa, sealed tight, packed damp and labeled by variety, and sent USPS Ground Advantage.
  • Seed is available year round. Shipping and handling can take up to 5 business days before your order ships, depending on season.
  • Some states are excluded. We do not ship seed to California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii or Texas, scionwood to Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon or Washington, or either to US territories or outside the United States, and some items have further state limits. Each product page lists them.
  • All sales are final. We are a small nursery selling living plants and cannot guarantee survival once material leaves our care. See our policies before ordering.
  • Pickup is by appointment only. Tree orders are placed online. When yours is ready we email you to set a time. We do not offer walk-in pickup.
  • You can reserve a tree online with no deposit from October 2 to March 31, on each tree's page. From April 1, save trees to your wish list instead.

Consulting

We consult on orchards, grafting, custom propagation, edible gardens, and windbreak and riparian buffer plantings. Each project is quoted on its own. Include 'Consulting' in your message below and tell us about the site and what you have in mind.
